WomenHeart at the ACC 63rd Annual Scientific Session & Expo

Recently we were on the road again and this time it was in Washington D.C. at the American College of Cardiology (ACC) 63rd Annual Scientific Session & Expo (aka ACC 14) with WomenHeart.

WomenHeart is featured in our upcoming documentary series The Embrace of Aging: the woman’s perspective of growing old.

WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease is the nation’s first and only national organization providing education and support to women living with heart disease. As they prepare to celebrate the fifteenth anniversary this spring, WomenHeart has made major strides from the community al the way to capital hill to be a voice for women with heart disease.

At ACC 14 nearly 20,000 cardiologists from all over the world are present. Here they can attend special presentations, talks, and speak with people from leading pharmaceutical and medical technology companies on what’s new.

For WomenHeart their participation was a chance to continue to reach out to doctors, pharmaceutical leaders as they continue their efforts to help ensure that women’s heart health gets the attention that it requires.

We had a chance to follow CEO Lisa Tate around as she talked with industry professionals to not only learn about what they may be doing, but just how WomenHeart may be a good ally in the future.
