If you are from Detroit and you hear the name "Ross" you can't help but think about Motown. We had the wonderful opportunity to do a sit down interview with 71-year old Dr. Barbara Ross-Lee—a daughter of Motown and renowned health policy leader— in her office on the Old Westbury, Long Island campus of the New York Institute of Technology.

Yes, legendary vocalist Diana Ross is Dr. Ross-Lee’s younger sister but we were not there to talk about her sibling. One of the most respected osteopathic physicians in the country, we sought out Dr. Ross Lee for insight and lessons on aging that are important to every woman, regardless of name or claim to fame.

In the hour we had with Dr. Ross-Lee, she reflected not only on aging but aging as a woman. She explored everything from physiological changes to changes in societal norms, from shifting demographics to shifts in public policy debates about approaches to an aging population. With all of her experience in the medical field she contributed a wonderful level of wisdom, science, and passion to our discussion - not to mention her personal reflections on her own adjustment to growing older.

We are excited to produce the series on women and aging, and are eager for the ways in which Dr. Ross-Lee's thoughts impact the final film.
