“The Ladies of Detroit” An Evening Dinner with the Girls

Dr. Lorna Thomas will tell you right out of the gate, “You better keep up,” as she bounces around her kitchen getting dinner ready for an all girls night dinner. Always the hostess, Lorna loves to spend time with the girls at her home of nearly 40 years. She frequently hosts get-togethers at her home in Detroit and enjoys each one. She ensures that they always have a good time.

Lorna, a spry 71, is still very busy with her dermatology practice that she has had for nearly 30 years. At the age of 37 she enrolled at the University of Michigan Medical School and was the oldest graduate in her class at 41.

On this particular evening, the group consisted of Gail Ross, Dr. Shari Maxwell and Diana Jones. This group is very close and they are not ashamed to express just how much so. In our interviews with them, they were very quick to say how much they loved their friends. They also had no problems discussing issues that affect all women.

The spirited conversation covered a variety of topics from men, women’s health issues and the importance of friendship.

These women are more than friends they are family. We are sure their insight, as aging women, will add a great deal to the series.
