Muffy Davis, gold medalist Paralympian and accomplished adventurer/world traveler
While in the presence of Muffy Davis, you can’t stop yourself from smiling. Put aside that Muffy has won more than twenty-five World Cup titles, the bronze medal in Nagano, Japan, three silver medals in Salt Lake City, UT and three gold medals in London – all in the Paralympics.
It’s her outgoing zest for life that defines “I’m not going to give up at anything.” Most recently, Muffy has rejoined the world of competitive international athletics as a handcyclist. Muffy’s racing curve kicked into high gear her first season competing, when she won the 2010 Women’s National Handcycle Time Trial Title and qualified for the 2010 Paracycling World Championships.
Furthermore, Muffy is an accomplished adventurer and world traveler. In 2002 she became the first female paraplegic mountaineer to summit a peak over 14,000’ when she successfully climbed California’s Mt. Shasta with three other paraplegics using a device called a SnowPod. Since then, she has successfully climbed Colorado’s Pikes Peak two times in her wheelchair.
Of all that she has accomplished, Muffy says that she is most proud of her 4-year old daughter, Elle.
We are thrilled to have Muffy in our film talking about perseverance as a woman. |
