Kirk in the Hills
Rev. Dr. Norman M. Pritchard

I have been working on The Embrace of Aging film, as it relates to men, for over a year. We have conducted an astounding array of personal interviews with great minds of medicine, human body research, neurosurgeons, Psychiatrists, and Psychologists. (see link http://embraceofaging.com/in-production.html)   As a result, it led me to the decision to meet with spiritual leaders to talk about men as they age.

The world of religion and faith can quite often become difficult to navigate when trying to select someone from the Christian faith.

As I was in the middle of the interview session with Rev. Dr. Norman Pritchard from the historic Kirk in the Hills church in Bloomfield, I knew I had the right guy.

Norman M. Pritchard was born in Glasgow, Scotland and studied for the ministry of the Church of Scotland at the University of Glasgow and Trinity College.  After preaching before her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1981 when she worshipped at Scots Church, Melbourne, in 1996 he and his family moved to the U.S. as he took up a call to become Senior Pastor, Head of Staff of the Kirk.

Our discussion of faith, men and personal relationships, as well as life after death was very interesting.

The environment of Kirk in the Hills’ 16th century architecture with stone walls and old world charm really takes you back in time.  Once we were through filming with
Rev. Pritchard, we sat in on a bible study group with some of the men from the Kirk.

It’s easy to see how this type of gathering of men not only affects them spiritually, but also socially.

We would like to thank Rev. Dr. Pritchard for his time and for the Kirk in the Hills for allowing us to film in this wonderful setting.
